As part of the campaign, Durga Puja celebrations spread across various apartment complexes and city hotspots, culminating in a one-of-a-kind artistic marvel — an eco-friendly Durga idol crafted entirely from spare parts of Royal Enfield motorcycles, displayed at Maligaon Kalibari Durga Mandap, near the Northeast Frontier Railway Headquarters.

The Big Green Durga is not just another idol — it’s a statement. Conceptualized around the philosophy of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” the idol embodies the essence of sustainability through the language of art. The striking installation was crafted by students of the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Basistha, who transformed scrap metal into an embodiment of Goddess Durga, symbolizing power, protection, and renewal. The intricate craftsmanship blurs the boundary between mechanical and mystical, making the idol both a visual and ideological centerpiece of this year’s Durga festivities.
