Guwahati, October 2025:This Durga Puja marked the first without Assam’s beloved Zubeen Garg, yet his presence was deeply felt. Known for his compassion and generosity, Zubeen da’s humanitarian spirit inspired Mirchi Iconic Puja this festive season.
With support from Amrit Foundation, Mirchi celebrated Durga Puja with senior citizens from Ashray Sewa Home, Santaneer Old Age Home, and Mother Care Centre. Over 40 elders enjoyed a joyous pandal-hopping experience on Sashti and Saptami (28th–29th September), visiting some of Guwahati’s most iconic puja venues — Triangular Park, Nambari, and Rest Camp Kalibari.

The initiative began with a heartfelt tribute to Zubeen Garg — diyas lit, songs sung, and memories shared. The air resonated with Mayabini, symbolizing that Zubeen da remains inseparable from Assam’s festivals and emotions.
RJ Susmita of 95FM Radio Mirchi shared, “This Puja, we wanted to continue Zubeen da’s legacy of kindness. Festivals are about togetherness — and making our elders feel that love was the best way to honor him.”
Pradeep Bagla, Managing Director of Amrit Cement, added, “We don’t just build homes — we build humanity. Supporting this initiative was our tribute to Zubeen da and our elders, the true pillars of our society.”
For the participants, the moments were magical — a return to the vibrant rhythm of Puja after years. “It felt like being young again, walking under the lights. Zubeen da’s blessings were with us,” shared one of them.
Through Mirchi Iconic Puja with Amrit Cement, Guwahati celebrated not just Durga Puja, but the timeless legacy of a man who made kindness his anthem — Zubeen Garg, forever in our hearts and songs.
